No matter where you live, you won’t be far from one of Eden Prairie’s 37 parks, 17 lakes, and 200 miles of trails that wind through every neighborhood. You will love the Minnesota River Valley’s breathtaking views, the Edenbrook Conservation Area’s natural hiking trails, and the Hennepin County Trail where you can bike all the way downtown. Round Lake Park is a hotbed of summer activity with its ballfields, beach, skate park, and splash pad. Bryant Lake Park is home to the Twin Cities Youth Rowing Club. Moreover, Eden Prairie has a community center that rivals any athletic club complimented by a top-end pool and several ice rinks.

The Eden Prairie Center is the hub of the majority of shops and restaurants including the new mammoth two-story, 250,000 square-foot Sheel’s sporting goods store complete with a 45-foot indoor Ferris wheel, 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium, and 85 specialty shops. Book a reservation at Campliello or Wildfire if you are in the mood for fine dining or drop into the Detello’s or the Lions Tap if you want a kitschier atmosphere.

One of the primary reasons people prefer to raise their families in Minnesota and specifically Eden Prairie is the A+ rated public school system. Minnesota public schools rank #1 or #2 in reading and math scores every year among states where at least half the students take the ACT. Eden Prairie can rightfully boast to be the best of the best since it was the only school district to receive straight As from Niche largely due to the fact that it offers the largest variety of athletic, academic, and music options in the State. Eden Prairie’s sports programs, ranked #1 in Minnesota by Sports Illustrated, have won state championships in every arena, and are often nationally ranked. The football, girl’s lacrosse, and dance teams are perennial powerhouses.

While the Eden Prairie School District boundary encompasses most of the city, homes east of 494 are in the Hopkins School District and many homes in the northwest corner are in the Minnetonka School District. You can attend another district. There is no guarantee there will be room but your odds improve in the primary grades. Your choices don’t stop there. Many Eden Prairie residents prefer the classical education at Eagle Ridge Academy charter school or the arts curriculum at PiM High School.

Eden Prairie Has Homes For Sale For Every Budget

Single-family homes in Eden Prairie cost between $400,000 to $1,000,000. The gated community of Bearpath is Eden Prairie’s most exclusive neighborhood. Most of the homes in Bearpath overlook the signature 18-hole Jack Nicholas designed course. Bearpath also features an outdoor pool, tennis courts, fitness center, and banquet facilities. You can buy a townhome in Bearpath for $600,000 to $800,000 and a single-family home for $800,000 to $3,000,000. If walkability and convenience are big priorities you will like Southwest Station Condos priced between $150.000 for a 500 square foot unit to $250,000 for a 2000 square foot unit. It is located right next to the new light rail station and the plethora of restaurants that have centered on it. Within a mile, you have restaurants, bars, drug stores, grocery stores, coffee shops, hiking trails, and a movie theatre.
